Freelance invoice generator
Invoices built from hours you already logged, not typed in from scratch. Pick a template, edit the lines in a preview that looks like paper, and download a branded PDF. Free, no account required.
Start from the work, not a blank form
Standalone invoice generators hand you an empty template and expect you to remember what you did. Here the invoice is the last step of a record you've already been keeping. Select a client and a period, and the unbilled time and expenses for that client become line items — hours, descriptions, rates, and amounts already filled in.
Every time and expense entry carries a billed or unbilled status, so nothing gets invoiced twice and nothing quietly goes unbilled. That single flag is what makes the whole pipeline trustworthy: what's left unbilled is genuinely money you haven't asked for yet.
A preview you can edit directly
The invoice is shown as the document your client will receive, and it's editable in place. Change a line item's description, quantity, rate, or date. Add a line that never came from a time entry. Fix an address. Adjust the invoice or due date. What you see while editing is what lands in the PDF.
Reimbursable expenses come across as line items too, and bring their receipts with them — so the proof travels attached to the bill instead of in a separate email.
Templates and branding
Pick a template that matches your company's style, then set your logo and primary and accent colors. The output is a plain, professional PDF — the kind that gets paid without prompting questions — rather than something obviously generated by a free tool.
Snapshots: old invoices stay true
This is the part most generators get wrong. When you create an invoice, it freezes a copy of your company details, logo, colors, and attachments as they were at that moment. Change your address, rebrand, or raise your rates a year later and last spring's invoice still shows exactly what your client received. Your historical record doesn't quietly rewrite itself.
Getting paid, and knowing you were
An invoice isn't finished when it's sent. Record full or partial payments against any invoice; the app tracks the amount paid and the balance due, moves the invoice through unpaid, sent, paid, and voided, and reconciles the status as payments land — prompting you to mark it paid once the balance reaches zero.
- Partial payments and deposits, without spreadsheet arithmetic
- Balance due visible at a glance per invoice
- Voided invoices kept on the record rather than deleted
- Records archived, not destroyed — anything removed can be restored
